GUSTAV BRAUSTACHE
AND THE AUTO-DEBILITATOR  (2007)
"in the glow of the morning after, this is one of the greatest films of all-time [...] I was literally on the edge of my seat as human nature and its accompanying foibles played out on the screen." “This is, without a doubt, my favorite 18 minutes of STIFF* this year—or SIFF**, for that matter. [...] I almost didn't watch it. I almost fucked up big-time. It's the story of an inventor, a landlord, and the world's most charming machines.” **Seattle International Film Festival
Synopsis:
Holed up in his cramped studio apartment and surviving on a diet of cocktail weenies and Ritz beer, legendary inventor Gustav Braustache is launched on a surreal and comedic journey when his Position Despecifier misfires.

Running time:  17 minutes

CONTACT “This was our favorite short of the night. [...] The comedic timing was impeccable. [...] Gustav Braustache’s gadgets and machines were all so delightful. [...] The Auto-Debilitator is perhaps the greatest invention of all time. My love and devotion for Nikola Tesla have suddenly shifted towards the brilliant Mr. Braustache.” -Dwight, Film Cake “Gustav was certainly outstanding. I could watch that one several times over. It created this wonderful, weird-yet-entirely-believable little world. Loved it, loved it” -Sarah, Film Cake "A wonderfully wacky short black-and-white film that no description can do justice." -Tampa Film Fan Buy the DVD at
